PROJECT TALENT: TRANSFORMING AGRICULTURAL LITERACY-LEARNING AND ENHANCING TEAM-TEACHING IS AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO ENHANCING IN-SERVICE TEACHERS' USE AND AWARENESS OF AGRICULTURAL LITERACY TERMS, IN COMBINATION WITH TEAM-TEACHING, TO ENGAGE STUDENTS IN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING CENTERED AROUND AGRICULTURAL TOPICS. THESE TOPICS WILL BE RELEVANT TO STUDENTS' COMMUNITY AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. STUDENTS WILL BE ENGAGED IN LESSONS THAT REQUIRE CRITICAL-THINKING ABOUT AN AGRICULTURAL PROBLEM THAT IS TIED TO CONTENT. STUDENTS WILL WORK TOGETHER TO SOLVE A PROBLEM, COLLECT DATA, ENGAGE IN HANDS-ON LEARNING, AND WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH PEERS ALL WHILE ENHANCING THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF AGRICULTURE AND LEARNING NEW AGRICULTURAL LITERACY TERMS.IN-SERVICE 5TH THROUGH 9TH GRADE SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY, AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) TEACHERS, ALONG WITH NURSES, AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION, AND ENGLISH TEACHERS, WILL PARTICIPATE IN A TALENT SUMMER TRAINING INSTITUTE. INITIALLY, THIS TRAINING WAS TO BE FACE-TO-FACE, BUT DIE TO CORONAVIRUS, THE TRAINING HAS BEEN MOVED ONLINE. TEACHERS WILL WATCH EXPERTS IN FARMING, GARDENING, TEACHING METHODS, AND AGRICULTURE AREAS VIA VIDEO-TAPED DEMONSTRATIONS. TEACHERS WILL BE ABLE TO USE THESE VIDEOS AS THEY NEED IN THEIR CLASSROOMS. TEACHERS WILL EMBED LESSONS WITH AGRICULTURAL LITERACY TERMS SURROUNDING SOME LOCAL AGRICULTURAL PROBLEMS. MEMBERS OF THE PROJECT TEAM WILL OBSERVE, ASSIST, PARTICIPATE AND SUPPORT TEACHER-PARTICIPANTS AS NEEDED TO ENSURE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT AND RESOLVE ANY DIFFICULTIES AS THEY ARISE.THE PROJECT TEAM WILL COLLECT, CODE, AND ANALYZE DATA THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT TO DETERMINE SUCCESS IN MEETING THE PROJECT GOALS.$41,969
