DOROTHY HALL WILL SERVE AS THE SCIENCE PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR (SCIENCE-PI) FOR THE MODIS/VIIRS SNOW AND ICE PROJECT AS GSFC. PRIMARY TASKS INCLUDE: (10 COORDINATE ALL ASPECTS OF THE MODIS/VIIRS SNOW AND ICE PRODUCT SUITE'S ALGORITHM DEVELOPMENT PRODUCT MAINTENANCE AND REFINEMENT EFFORTS; (2) INTERFACE WITH END-USER GROUPS AND PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS (I.E. NSIDC AND NOAA/NESDIS/STAR) IN ALL MANNERS PERTAINING TO THE DISTRIBUTION AND UTILIZATION OF MODIS/VIIRS CRYOSPHERE PRODUCTS;(3) DETERMINE UNCERTAINTIES IN THE SNOW COVER AND ICE SURFACE TEMPERATURE PRODUCT THROUGH VALIDATION STUDIES AND FIELD CAMPAIGNS; (4) PARTICIPATE IN MODIS/VIIRS TEAM MEETINGS AS WELL AS SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCES (E.G. ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN GEOGRAPHERS AND EASTERN SNOW CONFERENCE); (5) PUBLISH SCIENTIFIC RESULTS AND PROVIDE PROJECT STATUS REPORTS IN CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS AND PEER-REVIEWED LITERATURE.$0
