AMPAIRE, INC. WILL PROVIDE A TESTBED AIRCRAFT THAT WILL OFFER A WAY FOR ARPA-E PROJECTS TO DEPLOY AND TEST ITS TECHNOLOGY IN AN AERO-PLATFORM AT HIGH ALTITUDE IN ACTUAL FLIGHT ENVIRONMENTS. THIS WILL ALLOW THE ARPA-E TEAMS TO VALIDATE THEIR TECHNOLOGY IN REAL WORLD CONDITIONS AND OVERCOME THE LACK OF FLIGHT OPERATION HOURS, A BARRIER TO ENTRY FOR AVIATION TECHNOLOGIES.
