THIS COMPETITIVE COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR A RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ENTITLED, “PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT OF HYDROKINETIC ARRAYS USING RELIABLE, LOW-COST DYNAMIC COMPONENTS” IS AWARDED TO EMRGY INC. UNDER ARPA-E FOA NUMBER DE-FOA-0002335 (SHARKS SBIR-STTR) AND CONTROL NUMBER 2335-1512. EMRGY IS TEAMING WITH PREMIER ENERGY HOLDINGS, STANFORD UNIVERSITY AND THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, KNOXVILLE TO PROPOSE A PIVOT OF ITS DESIGN TO ADDRESS THE RIVERINE ENVIRONMENT OF THE FOA’S S1 CASE STUDY. THE PRIMARY TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGES IN THE RIVERINE ENVIRONMENT TO BE ADDRESSED INCLUDE: 1) ACHIEVING HIGH COEFFICIENTS OF POWER (CP) AT THE MODULE LEVEL ACROSS A WIDE RANGE OF OPERATING CONDITIONS IN LESS CONFINED WATERWAYS; 2) OPTIMIZING ARRAY (MULTI-MODULE) PERFORMANCE; AND 3) LOWERING CAPITAL AND OPEX COST.$3,000,000
