TULARE COUNTY CARBON STORAGE PROJECT (TCCSP). TCCSP WILL FOCUS ON TWO MAIN OBJECTIVES. THE FIRST IS ACQUIRING SITE-SPECIFIC CHARACTERIZATION DATA TO VALIDATE CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2) STORAGE ESTIMATES OF RESERVOIR UNITS AND THE COMPETENCY OF CONFINING LAYERS IN THE REGION TO PREVENT CO2 LEAKAGE TO DEVELOP A COMMERCIAL-SCALE CO2 PROJECT FURTHERING COMMERCIAL-SCALE CARBON CAPTURE UTILIZATION AND STORAGE (CCUS) DEPLOYMENT. THE SECOND OBJECTIVE IS ASSESSING, DEVELOPING, AND IMPLEMENTING A COMMUNITY BENEFITS PLAN BY ASSESSING TECHNICAL, ECONOMIC, REGULATORY, AND STAKEHOLDER ASPECTS OF THE TCCSP. THESE TASKS WILL ALLOW TCCSP TO MEET THE CARBONSAFE PHASE II OBJECTIVES BY PERFORMING A SITE-SPECIFIC CHARACTERIZATION OF THE PROJECT AREA AND SUPPORTING THE OVERARCHING GOAL OF THE DOE’S CARBON TRANSPORT AND STORAGE PROGRAM TO ENABLE AND SUPPORT THE RAPID, WIDESPREAD DEPLOYMENT CCUS TO HELP ADDRESS THE NATION’S DECARBONIZATION GOALS.$9,312,293
