ARIZONA SCIENCE CENTER IN COLLABORATION WITH ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY MUSEUM OF SCIENCE SCIENCE MUSEUM OF MINNESOTA AND ADDITIONAL MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL INFORMAL STEM EDUCATION NETWORK (NISE NET) PROPOSES A THREE-YEAR PROJECT MOON AND BEYOND: AN IMMERSIVE GAME FOR STEM LEARNING IN MUSEUMS AND PLANETARIUMS. THE PROJECT ALIGNS WITH NASA'S STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE TO ADVANCE THE NATION'S STEM EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE PIPELINE AND COSTEM STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS TO INCREASE AND SUSTAIN YOUTH AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT IN STEM AND BETTER SERVE GROUPS HISTORICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED IN STEM FIELDS. THE PRIMARY GOAL OF MOON AND BEYOND IS TO ENGAGE PUBLIC AUDIENCES IN AUTHENTIC STEM LEARNING RELATED TO HUMAN EXPLORATION BEYOND LOW-EARTH ORBIT AND ENCOURAGE 21ST CENTURY SKILLS. ADDITIONAL GOALS ARE TO PREPARE INFORMAL EDUCATORS TO OFFER HIGH-QUALITY STEM LEARNING EXPERIENCES; LEVERAGE A NATIONAL NETWORK AND ENCOURAGE LOCAL COLLABORATIONS TO ACHIEVE BROAD REACH ACROSS THE US; AND EVALUATE THE PRODUCT'S EFFICACY AND PROJECT'S IMPACT. THE PRIMARY AUDIENCE IS FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN GRADES 4-8 INCLUDING CROSS-CUTTING DEMOGRAPHIC GROUPS THAT ARE UNDERREPRESENTED IN STEM FIELDS. THE PROJECT ALSO ENGAGES A SECONDARY AUDIENCE OF INFORMAL EDUCATORS AND MUSEUM VOLUNTEERS.$749,582
