FOR EXAMPLE, ASKING AN EDUCATOR TO EXPLAIN TO THEIR STUDENTS HOW A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONS, FIRST REQUIRES THE EDUCATOR TO LEARN SIMPLE PLANETARY GEAR SETS, COMPOUND PLANETARY GEAR SETS, TRADITIONAL TRANSMISSION TECHNOLOGIES LIKE SLIDING GEARS, SYNCHRONIZERS, MULTIPLE DISC CLUTCHES, ELECTRIC DRIVES, AND HYDROSTATIC PUMPS AND MOTORS. E. COLI O157:H7, ONE OF THE LEADING CAUSES OF FOODBORNE ILLNESS OFTEN RESULTS FROM CONSUMING CONTAMINATED FOOD AND WATER. ITS ABILITY TO PRODUCE SHIGA-LIKE TOXINS OFTEN LEAD TO COMPLICATIONS SUCH AS HEMORRHAGIC COLITIS AND HEMOLYTIC ANEMIA. ALTHOUGH THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA) DOES ITS BEST TO PREVENT THE SALE OF CONTAMINATED FOODS, THE CURRENT DETECTION METHODS AREN'T ALWAYS A VIABLE OPTION FOR FASTER FOOD TESTING. THIS ISSUE IS AMPLIFIED IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES WHO DON'T ALWAYS HAVE THE MEANS TO SCREEN FOODS BEFORE CONSUMPTION. THEREFORE, IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR RESEARCHERS TO FIND A FAST, SIMPLE, AND RELIABLE METHOD OF BACTERIAL DETECTION FOR THE BENEFIT OF PRODUCERS AND CONSUMERS ALIKE. THE GOAL OF THIS STUDY IS TO DEVELOP A SIMPLE MAGNETIC RELAXATION PLATFORM WITH PLASMONIC PROPERTIES THAT IS USER-FRIENDLY, RAPID, AND COST-EFFECTIVE AND AT THE SAME TIME CAN BE USED IN FIELD CONDITIONS FOR FOOD-SAFETY APPLICATIONS. THIS TECHNOLOGY WOULD BRING MORE SENSITIVE METHODSFOR THE EFFECTIVE DETECTION OF E. COLI O157:H7 AND OTHER BACTERIAL CONTAMINATIONS IN FOOD.$139,543

THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY IS LACKING LEGITIMATE HYDRAULIC TRAINING BOARDS THAT PROVIDE AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE FOR PARTICIPANTS. BOSCH REXROTH IS THE WORLD LEADER OF MOBILE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS. THE BIG THREE AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS USE BOSCH REXROTH HYDRAULIC COMPONENTS. HOWEVER, IN ORDER TO RECEIVE BOSCH REXROTH HYDRAULIC TRAINING, PARTICIPANTS MUST TRAVEL OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATE (TO CANADA OR TO GERMANY) TO RECEIVE BOSCH REXROTH HYDRAULIC TRAINING.PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY IS UNIQUE IN THAT WE HAVE THE KANSAS CENTER FOR CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION (KCCTE), WHICH IS TASKED WITH MENTORING AND DEVELOPING VOCATIONAL EDUCATORS. THE PROJECT DIRECTOR AND THE KCCTE HAVE EXPERIENCE CONDUCTING WORKSHOPS, SUCH AS TWO WORKSHOPS IN 2018 THAT HAD EDUCATORS ATTEND FROM NUMEROUS STATES, INCLUDING: SOUTH DAKOTA, MISSOURI, KANSAS, ILLINOIS, IDAHO, TEXAS, AND OKLAHOMA.THE PROJECT DIRECTOR HAS THE EXPERIENCE AND THE EXPERTISE TO FACILITATE HIGH QUALITY HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TRAINING TO THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY. HE HAS WRITTEN TWO COMPREHENSIVE TEXTBOOKS, HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS FOR MOBILE EQUIPMENT AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT POWER TRAINS AND SYSTEMS. THESE BOOKS ARE CURRENTLY BEING USED BY AGRICULTURAL MANUFACTURERS (IN SERVICE TRAINING) AS WELL AS COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ACROSS NORTH AMERICA.$95,254
