Abstract
Carnegie Mellon University seeks to join the multi-university Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Safety, Security, and Rescue Research that has been established by the University of South Florida and the University of Minnesota. The goal of the center is to facilitate technology transfer by focusing on medium-term research and development that leverages pre-existing long-term research results, holds the commercial interest of the corporate members of the Center, and meets the needs of public secor responders.
