**AWARDS ISSUED PRIOR TO JANUARY 20, 2025, WERE FUNDED UNDER PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATIONS AND MAY NOT REFLECT THE PRIORITIES AND POLICIES OF THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.** THE LONG-TERM GOAL OF THIS PROPOSAL IS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE NEEDS AND METHODS FOR QUANTITATIVE BIO-MATHEMATICAL MODELING IN THE STUDY AND APPLICATION OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, INCLUDING ANIMAL NUTRITION AND ANIMAL FOOD PRODUCTION, IN THE ANIMAL SCIENCES COMMUNITIES. THIS OBJECTIVE WILL BE REACHED WITH A CONFERENCE ENTITLED MATHEMATICAL MODELING AND DATA PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS IN ANIMAL NUTRITION. THE CONFERENCE WILL BE FOCUSED ON BASIC AND ADVANCED SYSTEMS RESEARCH IN AGRICULTURE, INCLUDING MODELING APPROACHES TO ANIMAL NUTRITION, INTEGRATION OF RESEARCH ACROSS DISCIPLINES, AND DATA-DRIVEN AND DATA SCIENCE APPROACHES TO AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH AND APPLICATION. THE CONFERENCE WILL INCLUDE INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SPEAKERS FROM THE US AND OTHER COUNTRIES. IT WILL BE AIMED PRIMARILY AT YOUNGER SCIENTISTS AND PRE-DOCTORAL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN COMPLEX BIOLOGICAL PROBLEMS AND DATA-DRIVEN APPLICATIONS RELEVANT TO ANIMAL NUTRITION AND THE FOOD PRODUCTION SYSTEM. THE CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF ANIMAL SCIENCE (ASAS) MEETING IN CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA. TO EVALUATE THE IMPACT OF THE CONFERENCE, THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE WILL USE ONLINE SURVEYS TO ASSESS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE WORKSHOP IN HELPING PEOPLE MOVE INTO SYSTEMIC AND DATA ANALYTIC APPROACHES, INCLUDING MODELING AND SYSTEMS RESEARCH EFFORTS. OUTPUTS OF THE SYMPOSIUM WILL BE PUBLISHED ON THE NATIONAL ANIMAL NUTRITION PROGRAM WEBPAGE AND IN PEER-REVIEWED JOURNALS.
