** AWARDS ISSUED PRIOR TO JANUARY 20, 2025, WERE FUNDED UNDER PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATIONS AND MAY NOT REFLECT THE PRIORITIES AND POLICIES OF THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.** THE RESEARCH IN THIS PROJECT WILL COMPARE BUMBLE BEE COMMUNITIES ACROSS LANDSCAPES, DETERMINE EFFECTS OF FIELD-REALISTICPESTICIDE EXPOSURE, ANDINVESTIGATE HUMAN PERSPECTIVES OF POLLINATORS AND PEST MANAGEMENT. IT WILL FOCUS ONBUMBLE BEES AS THE MODEL SYSTEM TO DETERMINE HOW NATIVE BEES, HUMANS, AND LAND USES INTERACT. IWILLFOCUS ON BUMBLE BEE COMMUNITY COMPOSITION ACROSS NATURAL, AGRICULTURAL, AND URBAN LANDSCAPES AND QUANTIFYINGPESTICIDE EXPOSURE TO THESE BEES ACROSS THESE LAND USES.I WILL ALSODETERMINE THE LETHAL AND NON-LETHALEFFECTS OF PESTICIDES THAT ARE RELAVANT TO WHAT THE BEES ARE EXPOSED TO IN EACH HABITAT.LASTLY, IWILL COMPAREATTITUDES TOWARDS POLLINATORS AND PESTICIDES ACROSS THE LANDSCAPES LISTED ABOVE TO IDENTIFY PUBLIC AWARENESS ANDPOTENTIAL BARRIERS TO CONSERVATION PRACTICES. TO IMPROVE POLLINATOR HEALTH, WE MUST UNDERSTAND WHAT LAND USE ANDPESTICIDE FACTORS INFLUENCE THEIR SURVIVAL AND MAKE APPROPRIATE DECISIONS BASED ON THIS.
