REDOX REGULATIONPLAYS A KEY ROLE IN THE ADAPTATION AND ACCLIMATION OF PLANTS TO VARIOUS AND CHANGING ENVIRONMENTS. CLIMATE CHANGE EXPOSE CROPS TO INCREASING LEVELS OF ABIOTIC/BIOTICSTRESSES AND THEIR COMBINATION THREATENS AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION, DECREASES FOOD SECURITY, AND DESTABILIZES SOCIETIES AROUND THE GLOBE. THEREFORE, DETERMINING THE ROLE OF REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES (ROS) AND REDOX IN DEFENSE AND ACCLIMATION MECHANISMS IN RESPONSE TO STRESS COULD SIGNIFICANTLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF CLIMATE-RESILIENT CROPS. TO ENHANCE SCIENTIFIC UNDERSTANDING OF THIS TOPIC, WECENTERED THE WORLD-RENOWNED, ANNUAL IPG SYMPOSIUM AROUND THE THEME OF REDOX REGULATION OF PLANT STRESS AND DEVELOPMENT.THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF OUR SYMPOSIUM ARE TO PROVIDE THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY WITH LEARNING AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES AFFORDED TO UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS AS WELL AS POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS AND EARLY CAREER INVESTIGATORS.FURTHERMORE, INSTILLING THE VIRTUES OF INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION EARLY IN STUDENTS' CAREERS EXTENDS THE BENEFITS TO THE SOCIETY BECAUSE WE ARE EQUIPPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF SCIENTISTS WITH THE MINDSET AND APPROACH NEEDED TO TACKLE BIG SOCIETAL CHALLENGES.
