THE INCREASING UTILIZATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS OFFERS THE POSSIBILITY OF IMPROVING THE PROFITABILITY OF AGRICULTURE IN THE U.S. WHILE CONTRIBUTING TO REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT WELL KNOWN HOW KEY DOMESTIC INDUSTRIES WOULD BE AFFECTED BY AN INCREASE IN THE SHARE OF RENEWABLES, SUGGESTING A NEED FOR MAKING A FULL ASSESSMENT OF THE ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF ONGOING AND FUTURE SHIFTS TOWARDS RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS.A BETTER APPRECIATION OF THESE RELATIONSHIPS IS NECESSARY TO OFFER A MORE COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING OF HOW RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS IMPACT AGRICULTURE AND RURAL COMMUNITIES. THROUGH THE USE OF NUMERICAL MODELING AND DATA DRAWN FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES, THE PROPOSED PROJECT AIMS TO DETERMINE HOW CERTAIN RENEWABLE ADOPTION TRENDS THAT SUPPORT NET-ZERO EMISSIONS BY 2050 WOULD IMPACT AGRICULTURE. THE EFFECT OF CARBON-NEGATIVE RENEWABLES SUCH AS BIOENERGY WITH CARBON CAPTURE AND STORAGE COUPLED WITH LOCALIZED LOAD-SHIFTING TECHNOLOGIES, NAMELY, ELECTROCHEMICAL FERTILIZER PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES, ON AGRICULTURAL COMMUNITIES WILL BE EVALUATED AND THE EFFECT ON PROFIT AND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION QUANTIFIED. THIS ANALYSIS AIMS TO HIGHLIGHT PATHWAYS TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC VIABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY OF AGRICULTURE PRODUCTION.THE PROJECT'S SCOPE IS PURPOSEFULLY BROAD SO THAT A NUANCED UNDERSTANDING OF THE RELATIONSHIPSSTUDIED IS OBTAINED. THIS KNOWLEDGE WILL THEN BE USED TO INFORM POLICYMAKING THROUGH FACTSHEETS, PUBLICATIONS, AND PRESENTATIONS, THAT WILL SUPPLEMENT THE NEW AND ONGOING IMPLEMENTATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS INCLUDING THE POTENTIAL ADOPTION OF LOAD-SHIFTING TECHNOLOGIES SUCH AS ELECTROCHEMICAL FERTILIZER PRODUCTION AND BIO-ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES THAT CAPTURE AND STORE THEIR CARBON EMISSIONS.
