THIS PROPOSAL IS FOCUSED ON THE CORE CPS AREAS OF CONTROL, DATA ANALYTICS, AUTONOMY, AND REAL-TIME SYSTEMS. THIS MEDIUM PROJECT IS A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY EFFORT TO SOLVE FUNDAMENTAL CHALLENGES IN DEVELOPING A CYBERPHYSICAL, CLOSED-LOOP SYSTEM OF NOVEL SENSORS, CONTROLS, PREDICTIVE MODELS, AND TESTBEDS FOR DECISIONMAKING IN AGRICULTURAL WATER AND FERTILIZER MANAGEMENT. OUR SOLUTION CREATES A PLATFORM TO PREDICT PLANT PHENOTYPE, CROPPING SYSTEM PRODUCTIVITY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY. THE PROJECT INVOLVES ENGINEERS OF LOW-COST SENSORS AND UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE-BASED REMOTE SENSING, DATA SCIENTISTS, GENETICISTS, AGRONOMISTS, AND SYSTEMS MODELERS.
