SPACEFLIGHT TECHNOLOGY EXPERIMENTS IN PARABOLIC AND SUB-ORBITAL ROCKET FLIGHTS ADVANCEMENT EXPERIMENTS OFTEN RELY ON VIDEO RECORDING FOR DATA. EVEN IF NOT THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF DATA SUCH VIDEO SYSTEMS MONITOR EXPERIMENT OPERATIONS TO PROVIDE PROPER CONTEXT FOR OR HISTORY OF DIFFERENT EVENTS IN THE MISSION THAT CAN BE HELPFUL IN POST-FLIGHT MISSION ASSESSMENTS. THE LATEST HIGH-DEF VIDEO IS CHEAP FOR CONSUMER MARKET BUT IS GENERALLY LIMITED TO FINGER-TIP CONTROL. BLUETOOTH AND WI-FI CONTROL ARE OF HELP BUT ELECTRO-MAGNETIC INTERFERENCE CONCERNS IN FLIGHT VEHICLES OFTEN PROHIBIT USE OF THOSE METHODS. SCIENTIFIC CAMERAS CONTROLLABLE VIA WIRED INTERNET AND OTHER PROTOCOLS ARE SUBSTANTIALLY LARGER HEAVIER AND MORE EXPENSIVE. THESE THREE QUALITIES AND THE FREQUENT LACK OF ON-BOARD MICRO- SD CARD RECORDING RENDER THEM UNATTRACTIVE FOR MANY SPACEFLIGHT TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENT PAYLOAD PROGRAMS. THE NEW GOPRO HERO-8 HOWEVER HAS BUILT IN AUDIO CONTROL AND THIS FEATURE IS SHOWN BY THE PI TO BE ABLE TO BE ACTIVATED BY RECORDED VOICE COMMANDS. THE DIGITAL AUDIO PLAYBACK DEVICES ARE TINY AND ULTRA-LOW POWER (THUS LOW HEATING IN A PAYLOAD BOX) THE GOPRO IS SMALL LIGHTWEIGHT AND 4K VIDEO. THUS CAMERAS AND VOICE CONTROL ELECTRONICS ARE IDEAL FOR PAYLOAD BOX FLIGHT FORMATS. IN ADDITION FOR PARABOLIC FLIGHT THEY CAN EASILY BE BURIED INSIDE OF CONTAINMENT LEVELS FOR LIQUIDS OR OTHER POTENTIAL DANGERS. ONE PARABOLIC FLIGHT TEST FOR A ONE-PERSON HAND-HELD EXPERIMENT IS PROPOSED. THIS IS A NEW ULTRA-LOW PRICE POINT IN THE RESEARCH FLIGHT SERVICES BY THE ZERO-G CORPORATION. THE PI IS AN EXPERIENCED TWO-PHASE FLUIDS RESEARCHER IN PARABOLIC FLIGHT AND THOSE FLUIDS PAYLOAD OFTEN RELY ON ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS MORE COMPLEX THAN WHAT IS PROPOSED IN THIS EXPERIMENT. SUCCESSFUL PROOF OF OPERATIONS IN WEIGHTLESSNESS AND IN THE NOISY AIRPLANE CABIN WILL ENABLE MANY RESEARCHERS TO IMPROVE THEIR OWN EXPERIMENTS CHEAPLY.
