MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY (MSU) UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT TEAM AND FACULTY MENTOR WILL WORK CLOSELY TO DEVELOP A NEXT-GENERATION PACKAGE DELIVERY ELECTRIC DRONE WITH HIGH PAYLOAD CAPACITY IN THIS RESEARCH PROPOSAL. DURING THE FIRST TWO QUARTERS THE OPTIMIZED DELIVERY DRONE FOR HIGH PAYLOAD CAPACITY WILL BE DEVELOPED USING MINIMAL AMOUNT OF BATTERY CELLS. THIS ELECTRIC DRONE WILL BE COMBINED WITH ELECTRIFIED PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM TO FURTHER EXTEND THE DELIVERY RANGE. THE SECOND AND THIRD QUARTERS WILL BE USED TO DEVELOP INNOVATIVE LATCHING/CHARGING SYSTEM TO SAFELY AND SECURELY ATTACH THE ELECTRIC DRONE TO THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM.
