THE SCIENTIFIC AIM IS TO FILL OUT A SAMPLE OF ULIRGS WITH HARD X-RAY OBSERVATIONS TO ROBUSTLY ASSESS THE DEGREE TO WHICH ULIRGS ARE POWERED BY ACCRETING SUPERMASSIVE BLACK HOLES. THE GO 6 PROGRAM WILL OBSERVE FOUR NEW ULIRGS HOWEVER THE SUCCESS OF THE SCIENTIFIC GOAL OF THE OBSERVING PROPOSAL ALSO REQUIRES THE CONSISTENT REPROCESSING AND ANALYSIS OF ARCHIVAL NUSTAR OBSERVATIONS FOR THE ULIRGS WHICH HAVE ALREADY BEEN OBSERVED. THIS SIGNIFICANT EFFORT AND THE SUBSEQUENT STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF THE LARGE SAMPLE REQUIRES THE FULL-TIME EFFORT OF A POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR. WE EXPECT THE PROJECT CAN BE COMPLETED WITH ONE YEAR. THE CONSISTENT ANALYSIS OF THE NEW GO 6 OBSERVATIONS AND THE ARCHIVAL DATA WILL ENSURE THE LEGACY VALUE OF THESE NUSTAR DATA FOR SOME OF THE MOST POWERFUL GALAXIES IN THE LOCAL UNIVERSE.
