A SAMPLE OF APPROXIMATELY 1500 MEMBERS AND CANDIDATE MEMBERS OF THE UPPER SCO REGION OF RECENT STAR FORMATION HAVE K2 DATA THAT IS PUBLICALLY RELEASED AS PART OF THE EXTENDED KEPLER MISSION'S FIELD 2 CAMPAIGN. THE LIGHTCURVES ARE EXQUISITE AND PROVIDE UNIQUE INSIGHT IN TO STAR DISK AND PLANET PHENOMENA AT 5-10 MYR OF AGE. THIS TIME FRAME IS A KEY EVOLUTIONARY STAGE BETWEEN THE WELL-STUDIED 1-2 MYR OLD STAR FORMING REGIONS WHERE SUCH HIGH PRECISION DATA HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE FROM BOTH COROT (OPTICAL) AND SPITZER (INFRARED) AND THE 120-900 MYR OLD CLUSTERS THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN K2 FIELDS 4 AND 5. THE K2 FIELD 2 DATA AND ITS RICH UNIQUE SCIENCE CAN BE EXPLOITED ONLY THROUGH THE ADAP FUNDING LINE; THIS IS BECAUSE TARGET LIST CALLS THAT WERE FUNDED FOR ANALYSIS BEGAN WITH SUBSEQUENT K2 CAMPAIGNS. WITH THE AVAILABLE K2 IMAGE AND LIGHTCURVE DATA FOR MEMBERS OF BOTH THE DISTRIBUTED 5-10 MYR OLD UPPER SCO REGION AND THE CONCENTRATED 1-2 MYR OLD RHO OPH MOLECULAR CLOUD REGION WE AIM TO DO THE FOLLOWING. OUR SCIENCE GOALS ARE LISTED IN ORDER OF INCREASING DIFFICULTY: 1) DETERMINE STELLAR ROTATION PERIODS; 2) ASSESS AND CATEGORIZE ANY SUPERPOSED DISK-RELATED VARIABILITY RELATIVE TO YOUNGER CLUSTERS NOTABLY NGC 2264; 3) SEARCH FOR ECLIPSES DUE TO BINARY STELLAR BROWN DWARF OR THE YOUNGEST PLANETARY SIZE COMPANIONS; 4) ASSESS THE CLOSE-IN GIANT PLANET FREQUENCY AROUND<10 MYR OLD STARS VIA INJECTION /RECOVERY TECHNIQUES FOCUSING ON THE QUIETER DISK-FREE PORTION OF THE SAMPLE. THIS SCIENCE IS UNIQUELY CARRIED OUT WITH THE K2 FIELD 2 DATA SET. ONE YEAR AGO WE SUBMITTED AN ADAP PROPOSAL FOR THIS PROGRAM THAT WAS NOT RATED SINCE IT MISTAKENLY UTILIZED A MINIMUM LINE SEPARATION 87.5% OF THE REQUIREMENT. IN THAT INTERVENING YEAR WE HAVE PUBLISHED OR SUBMITTED 9 COLLABORATIVE PAPERS ON K2 FIELD 2 4 AND 5 DATA AND WOULD LIKE TO MORE LEGITIMATELY CONTINUE THIS LINE OF WORK VIA A FUNDED EFFORT SUPPORTING A STUDENT.
