PULSAR WIND NEBULAE (PWNE) STUDIES PROVIDE US WITH INFORMATION ON PARTICLE ACCELERATION MECHANISMS AT RELATIVISTIC SHOCKS ON THE EVOLUTION OF THE PULSAR SPIN DOWN AND AT LATER PHASES ON THE AMBIENT INTERSTELLAR GAS. WHILE THE BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF PWNE HAS BEEN DEVELOPED WE STILL LACK DETAILED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE RELATIVISTIC PARTICLE POPULATIONS IN THESE SYSTEMS. MOREOVER THE EVOLUTION OF PWNE UNDER DIFFERENT CONDITIONS AND HOW THAT IS REFLECTED IN THEIR HIGH-ENERGY GAMMA-RAY EMISSION IS YET TO BE WELL DETERMINED. TO ANSWER THESE OUTSTANDING QUESTIONS WE PROPOSE TO CARRY OUT A SYSTEMATIC SEARCH AND SPECTRAL CHARACTERIZATION OF PWNE AROUND ALL FERMI-LAT DETECTED PULSARS AND NEBULAE OBSERVED IN OTHER WAVELENGTHS. THE PRIMARY GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DETERMINE THE RELATIVISTIC PARTICLE SPECTRUM UNDERLYING THE GAMMA-RAY EMISSION FROM THESE OBJECTS. WE REQUEST A TOTAL BUDGET OF $57 000 IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT THE INVESTIGATION. THE PROPOSED FUNDING IS FOR SUPPORT OF THE ANALYSIS MODELING INTERPRETATION OF A FERMI STUDY OF MEV-GEV BRIGHT PULSAR WIND NEBULAE (PWNE) AS WELL AS THE PUBLICATION AND PRESENTATION OF ITS RESULTS.
