THE PROPOSED INVESTIGATION IS TO STUDY THE BEHAVIOR OF MAGNETOACOUSTIC WAVES BETWEEN THE PHOTOSPHERE AND CORONA ABOVE SUNSPOTS. THIS INVESTIGATION DEALS WITH FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEMS OF MHD WAVES AND ENERGY TRANSPORT THROUGH WAVE PROPAGATION AND ADDRESSES ONE OF THE DECADAL SURVEY GOALS: ``DISCOVER AND CHARACTERIZE FUNDAMENTAL PROCESSES THAT OCCUR BOTH WITHIN THE HELIOSPHERE AND THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE." OUR PRIMARY DATA SOURCES ARE SDO/AIA AND SDO/HMI. THE PROPOSED ANALYSES ARE IN LINE WITH THE AIA'S TWO CORE RESEARCH THEMES "ENERGY INPUT STORAGE AND RELEASE" AND "CORONAL SEISMOLOGY" AND FALL INTO ONE OF HMI'S SCIENCE GOALS OF EXPLORING "LINKS BETWEEN THE INTERNAL PROCESSES AND DYNAMICS OF THE CORONA AND HELIOSPHERE".
