ROTATION IS A FUNDAMENTAL PROPERTY OF STARS; IT VARIES STRONGLY WITH STELLAR TYPE EVOLUTIONARY STATE AND AGE. COOL MAIN SEQUENCE STARS SPIN DOWN WITH TIME; THE COMBINATION OF CONVECTION AND ROTATION DRIVE A MAGNETIC DYNAMO AND MAGNETIZED STELLAR WINDS RESULT IN MAGNETIC BRAKING. THE OPPORTUNITY PRESENTED IS TWOFOLD: ?RST THE SPIN-DOWN PRODUCES A PERIOD-AGE RELATION ENABLING MEASUREMENTS OF ROTATION PERIODS TO BE USED TO INFER STELLAR AGES. SECOND THE SPIN-DOWN ITSELF IS INTIMATELY TIED TO THE GENERATION AND EVOLUTION OF MAGNETIC ?FIELDS AND THUS PROVIDES A UNIQUE WINDOW INTO THE MAGNETIC LIVES OF SUN-LIKE STARS. KEPLER PROVIDED THE LARGEST SAMPLE OF ROTATION PERIODS TO DATE REVEALING UNEXPECTED PATTERNS IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF PERIODS OF COOL DWARFS. TO FULLY REALIZE THE POTENTIAL OF ROTATION AS A TOOL WE MUST UNDERSTAND THE ORIGIN OF THESE PATTERNS WHETHER IT BE STELLAR POPULATIONS OR MISSING PHYSICS. WE PROPOSE TO SEARCH FOR ROTATION PERIODS IN ~?220000 TESS STARS WITH AN EMPHASIS ON THE SOUTHERN CONTINUOUS VIEWING ZONE (SCVZ) AND ASTEROSEISMIC DWARF STARS. WE WILL: 1) BETTER CONSTRAIN THE SPIN-DOWN OF STARS WITH TIME FOR USE IN PERIOD-AGE RELATIONS 2) USE ROTATION DISTRIBUTIONS AND ACTIVITY PROXIES (SPH) TO STUDY THE PRESENCE AND EVOLUTION OF MAGNETIC ?FIELDS 3) PRODUCE A CATALOG OF ROTATION PERIODS AND ACTIVITY PROXIES AND 4) PRODUCE A CATALOG OF RELIABLE ROTATION-BASED AGES FOR BROADER USE IN THE TESS COMMUNITY.
