GROUND VERY LOW FREQUENCY (VLF) TRANSMITTERS SCATTER IS CAPABLE OF SCATTERING RELATIVISTIC ELECTRONS AND PLAYS AN IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION TO PRECIPITATION LOSS. QUANTIFICATION OF THE SCATTERING RATE DUE TO VLF TRANSMITTERS IS NOT WELL ESTABLISHED BECAUSE OF LACK OF CONTINUOUS MONITORING THE SIGNALS OF THE TRANSMITTERS AT VLF TRANSMITTER FREQUENCIES OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THE GOAL OF THIS INVESTIGATION IS TO CONSTRUCT THE SIGNAL DISTRIBUTION OF INDIVIDUAL VLF TRANSMITTER SIGNALS AND ASSESS THE SCATTERING RATE DUE TO VLF TRANSMITTER SIGNALS. SPECIFICALLY WE WILL ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING SCIENCE QUESTIONS: 1) HOW DO VLF TRANSMITTER SIGNALS EVOLVE IN THE MAGNETOSPHERE? HOW DO VLF TRANSMITTER SIGNALS DISTRIBUTE WITH RESPECT TO THE PLASMAPAUSE DURING STORM TIMES? 2) HOW DO VLF TRANSMITTER SIGNALS CONTRIBUTE TO THE DYNAMICS OF THE RADIATION BELTS?
