WE PROPOSE TO CONTINUE OUR SUCCESSFUL X-RAY SURVEY OF GRAVITATIONALLY LENSED SDSS MINI-BAL QUASARS. THE MAIN SCIENTIFIC GOALS OF THIS PROPOSAL ARE TO: (A) INVESTIGATE WHETHER RELATIVISTIC OUTFLOWS OF X-RAY ABSORBING MATERIAL ARE A COMMON PROPERTY OF MINI- BAL QUASARS AND IN GENERAL OF QUASARS AT HIGH REDSHIFTS WHERE THEIR OUTFLOW INDUCED FEEDBACK ONTO THE ISM IS CONSIDERED TO BE ONE OF THE MAIN CONTRIBUTORS TO GALAXY EVOLUTION. (B) INFER THE RANGE OF OUTFLOW PROPERTIES BY MORE THAN DOUBLING OUR CURRENT SAMPLE OF THREE MINI-BAL QUASARS THAT SHOW RELATIVISTIC OUTFLOWS AT A REDSHIFT RANGE WHERE AGN FEEDBACK IS THOUGHT TO HAVE HAD ITS MAJOR IMPACT OF GALAXY EVOLUTION. SPECIFICALLY WE WILL CONSTRAIN THE PROPERTIES OF THE OUTFLOWING WIND IN A PROPOSED SAMPLE OF FOUR LENSED MINI-BAL QUASARS. THE LENSING MAGNIFICATION OF THE PROPOSED SAMPLE ALLOWS US TO PROBE FOR OUTFLOWS NEAR THE PEAK OF QUASAR ACTIVITY. THE PROPOSED OBSERVATIONS WILL ALSO RESULT IN HIGHER S/N X-RAY SPECTRA THAN CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. THESE CONSTRAINTS WILL IMPROVE OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE SIGNIFICANCE OF SUCH OUTFLOWS IN REGULATING BLACK HOLE GROWTH AND IN INFLUENCING STRUCTURE FORMATION. (C) TEST WHETHER THE OUTFLOW PROPERTIES OF THE X-RAY ABSORBERS CORRELATE WITH X-RAY AND UV SPECTRAL PROPERTIES OF THE DRIVING FORCE. THIS TEST WILL PROVIDE INSIGHT INTO THE LAUNCHING MECHANISM OF QUASAR OUTFLOWS AND INDICATE WHETHER AN X-RAY ABSORBER/SHIELD IS REQUIRED TO DRIVE X-RAY OUTFLOWS.
