THE PURDUE TEAM WILL FINALIZE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEXT GENERATION PALMS (PALMS NG) INSTRUMENT FOR ER-2 AIRCRAFT DEPLOYMENT. THE INSTRUMENT IS DESIGNED TO FIT THE SPACE MASS AND POWER REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED IN THE PROPOSAL AND IS INTENDED FOR DEPLOYMENT ON THE ER-2 AIRCRAFT SPECIFIED. PI DANIEL CZICZO WILL LEAD THE TEAM (INCLUDING A TECHNICIAN POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW AND PHD STUDENT) AND BE INVOLVED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROJECT FROM DESIGN TO FABRICATION TO DEPLOYMENT TO DATA ACQUISITION AND ANALYSIS. THE NEXT GENERATION PALMS INSTRUMENT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PROPOSED FLIGHTS. ANALYZED DATA WILL BE ARCHIVED PER CURRENT NASA RULES. NOTE THAT PAST PALMS DEPLOYMENTS ON THE WB-57F HAVE ADHERED TO THIS POLICY.
