THE TRANSITING EXOPLANET SURVEY SATELLITE (TESS) MISSION WILL YIELD LIGHT CURVES FOR>1 MILLION STARS A DATA SET THAT WILL BE A CHALLENGE TO FULLY EXPLOIT WITHOUT HELP FROM CITIZEN SCIENTISTS. WE PROPOSE TO CONSTRUCT A PILOT CITIZEN SCIENCE PROJECT TO ANALYZE TESS MISSION LIGHT CURVES BUILDING ON OUR EXPERIENCE WITH KEPLER TRANSIT DATA AND WITH OTHER SUCCESSFUL CITIZEN SCIENCE INITIATIVES. THIS PROJECT WILL SERVE TO VET AND BENCHMARK THE PLANNED DATA REDUCTION PIPELINES AND HELP FIND UNUSUAL TRANSITING SYSTEMS SUCH AS LONG-PERIOD PLANETS PLANETS AROUND UNUSUAL HOST STARS AND SELF-LENSING SYSTEMS THAT DEFEAT AUTOMATED SEARCH ALGORITHMS.
