CLIMATOLOGY OF EXOPLANETS IS AS YET AN IMMATURE FIELD WITH REGARD TO UNDERSTANDING THEIR POTENTIAL DIVERSITY UNDER A VARIETY OF STELLAR ORBITAL AND PLANETARY CONDITIONS PARTICULARLY WITH REGARD TO THEIR FULL THREE-DIMENSIONAL CIRCULATION PATTERNS. THEREFORE THE LIKELIHOOD AND ABILITY OF REMOTE OBSERVATIONS TO DETECT SIGNS OF HABITABILITY OF PLANETS GIVEN SUCH POTENTIAL DIVERSITY ARE CURRENTLY UNCONSTRAINED. THIS PROJECT WILL USE THE VIRTUAL PLANETARY MODEL S OBSERVATION INSTRUMENT SIMULATORS TO CLASSIFY A PERTURBED PARAMETER ENSEMBLE (PPE) OF THEORETICAL LAND PLANETS CONDUCTED IN THE ROCKE-3D GENERAL CIRCULATION MODEL (GCM) BY THE NASA GISS PI FOR DETECTABILITY OF SURFACE LIQUID WATER AND ATMOSPHERIC VARIABLES RELATED TO THE PRESENCE OF SURFACE LIQUID WATER.
