THIS STUDY OF RETURNED COMET SAMPLES WILL DIRECTLY EXPLORE THE ORIGIN AND DISTRIBUTION OF ROCKY MATERIALS IN HOT AND COLD REGIONS OF THE EARLY SOLAR SYSTEM AND PROVIDE UNIQUE SAMPLE-BASED INFORMATION FOR OR AGAINST LARGE SCALE MIXING OF NEBULAR MATERIALS THAT CAN BE USED TO CONSTRAIN MODELS OF THE EARLY SOLAR SYSTEM. THIS INFORMATION IS ALSO IMPORTANT FOR PLANNING AND INTERPRETING PAST AND FUTURE MISSIONS TO BOTH COMETS AND ASTEROIDS.
