WE PROPOSE TO BETTER EVALUATE OBSERVABLE BENEFITS WITHIN THE STRATOSPHERE OF THE MONTREAL PROTOCOL AND ITS AMENDMENTS WHICH WERE AIMED AT ESSENTIALLY ELIMINATING ANTHROPOGENIC EMISSION THREATS TO THE OZONE LAYER BY PERFORMING NOVEL DETAILED ANALYSES OF THE PAST 15+ YEARS OF HIGH-QUALITY AURA MICROWAVE LIMB SOUNDER (MLS) DATA MAINLY STRATOSPHERIC OZONE AND CHLORINE SPECIES. NOTABLY IT IS NECESSARY TO RECENT REPORTS OF SMALL LONG-TERM REDUCTIONS IN OZONE LOSS FOR THE ANTARCTIC OZONE HOLE REGION. THE EMERGENCE OF SUCH REDUCTIONS IS AN IMPORTANT PHASE IN THE PROCESS OF OZONE LAYER RECOVERY FROM THE EFFECTS OF OZONE DEPLETING SUBSTANCES (ODSS). THE TRACKING AND UNDERSTANDING OF CHANGES IN THE STRATOSPHERIC OZONE LAYER AND IN RELATED CHEMICALS WAS A CENTRAL PURPOSE BEHIND THE CREATION OF THE AURA MISSION.
