WE HYPOTHESIZE THAT NEW COMBINATIONS OF REMOTE SENSING DATA (E.G. MODIS LST AND AMSR) WILL PROVIDE ESTIMATIONS OF SURFACE DENSITY AND ICE LAYERS THAT MAY EQUAL OR SURPASS THE ACCURACY OF OUTPUTS FROM COMPUTATIONALLY EXPENSIVE MULTI-LAYER SNOW MODELS.
