NASA AND NOAA ARE COLLABORATING ON INCORPORATING GNSS AND SEISMOGEODETIC DATA INTO THE TSUNAMI WARNING SYSTEM AT THE NATIONAL AND PACIFIC TSUNAMI WARNING CENTERS. THIS TECHNOLOGY IS EXPECTED TO PROVIDE MORE ACCURATE INITIAL ESTIMATES OF EARTHQUAKE SOURCE PARAMETERS USED FOR TSUNAMI WARNINGS. COMPARED TO SEISMIC TECHNOLOGY CURRENTLY IN USE AT THE NOAA TWCS THE GEODETIC DATA DO NOT SATURATE CLOSE TO THE EARTHQUAKE EPICENTER HENCE ARE EXPECTED TO PROVIDE ACCURATE INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF TSUNAMI WARNINGS AND TSUNAMI FORECAST MODELS.THROUGH A SERIES OF FACE TO FACE MEETINGS AND TELECONFERENCES WE HAVE JOINTLY DEVELOPED A PLAN FOR IMPLEMENTING THE GWORM SYSTEM WITHIN AN EARTHWORM ENVIRONMENT AT THE TWCS. THE PLAN COVERS THE FLOW OF GPS DISPLACEMENT AND VELOCITIES (IN THE CASE OFSEISMOGEODESY) FROM MULTIPLE DATA CENTERS (CWU JPL SIO) AND INDIVIDUAL MODULES TO PROVIDE A HIERARCHY OF RELEVANT DATA PRODUCTS (FIGURE 1). WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING OUT THE DATA FLOW INCLUDING FORMATS AND THE MERGING OF THE INDEPENDENT DISPLACEMENT TIME SERIES PROVIDED BY THE THREE DATA CENTERS. TO PROVIDE REDUNDANCY EACH DATA CENTER WILL MAINTAIN A COMPLETE AND EQUIVALENT DATA FLOW AND MERGING SOFTWARE. WE HAVE ESTABLISHED A TIMELINE FOR ACCOMPLISHING THESE TASKS AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MODULES AT THE TWCS (TABLE 1). A LIST OF 65 STATIONS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR THE PROJECT. THESE INCLUDE 38 STATIONS OPERATED BY THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST SEISMIC NETWORK (PNSN) THAT INCLUDE COLLOCATED GNSS AND OBSERVATORY GRADE ACCELEROMETERS (FIGURE 2 TABLE 2).
