THE OVERARCHING GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO IMPROVE REMOTE SENSING RETRIEVAL CAPABILITIES FOR BIOGEOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS FOR THE INLAND WATERS OF NORTH AMERICA THROUGH PHYSICS-BASED APPROACHES. DR. MOUW WILL PROVIDE EXPERTISE IN ALGORITHM REFINEMENT IN OPTICALLY COMPLEX SYSTEMS AND ANALYSIS OF IMAGERY TIME SERIES. MOUW IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OVERALL PROJECT MANAGEMENT. SPECIFICALLY THE TASKS SHE AND HER TEAM WILL UNDERTAKE INCLUDE:??FINAL QUALITY CONTROL AND SUBMISSION INTO NASA SEABASS OF TARGETED OBSERVATIONS THAT HER GROUP HAS ALREADY COMPLETED AS PART OF THIS PROJECT.??COMPLETE POOLING AND SYNTHESIS OF ALL OPTICAL OBSERVATIONS AVAILABLE IN THE SYSTEM.??DEVELOPMENT OF MASS-SPECIFIC OPTICAL PROPERTIES FOR IMPORTANT BIOGEOCHEMICAL CASES AND LAKE SYSTEMS BASED ON ANALYSES OF THE OPTICS DATA SETS COMPILED.??ALGORITHM REFINEMENT/DEVELOPMENT. DEVELOP A LUT SYSTEM TO GUIDE SPECIFICATIONS OF MSOPS FOR RETRIEVALS BASED ON BIOGEOCHEMICAL CASES.??IMPLEMENTATION OF REFINED ALGORITHMS ON TO DECADAL SATELLITE (E.G.
