THE GEOSTATIONARY TRACE GAS AND AEROSOL SENSOR OPTIMIZATION GEOTASO INSTRUMENT LEITCH 2014 WAS DEVELOPED BY BALL AEROSPACE UNDER NASAS INSTRUMENT INCUBATOR PROGRAM AS A TEST BED INSTRUMENT FOR THE GEOSTATIONARY COASTAL AND AIR POLLUTION EVENTS GEO CAPE DECADAL SURVEY MISSION FISHMAN 2012. GEOTASO IS NOW ALSO A TEST BED FOR THE UPCOMING U.S. TROPOSPHERIC EMISSIONS MONITORING OF POLLUTION TEMPO ZOOGMAN 2016 AND KOREAN GEOSTATIONARY ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING SPECTROMETER GEMS GEOSTATIONARY AIR QUALITY MISSIONS WHICH ARE SCHEDULED FOR LAUNCH WITHIN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS. IN THIS CAPACITY GEOTASO ACTS AS A SATELLITE ANALOG FOR AIR QUALITY FIELD CAMPAIGNS AND WILL BE A VALIDATION INSTRUMENT AFTER SATELLITE MISSION ARE ON ORBIT. GEOTASO HAS PARTICIPATED IN AIR QUALITY FIELD CAMPAIGNS IN TEXAS DISCOVER AQ 2013 COLORADO DISCOVER AQ 2014 AND SOUTH KOREA KORUS AQ 2016.
