MODERN TECHNOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES USING ADVANCED EYEWITNESS REPORTING APPS WEATHER RADAR AND SEISMOMETRY ALLOW THIS AND HAVE A DEMONSTRATED RECORD OF SUCCESS (E.G. JENNISKENS ET AL. 2012A AND 2012B). OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO RECOVER METEORITES FROM METEORITE FALLS AS REDDY ET AL. RAPID DETECTION AND RECOVERY OF METEORITES 2 SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER EACH FALL. WE WILL COLLECT THEM RAPIDLY TO MINIMIZE TERRESTRIAL WEATHERING AND CONTAMINATION AND TO FACILITATE TIME-SENSITIVE MEASUREMENTS SUCH AS SHORTLIVED ISOTOPE MEASUREMENTS. UNCONTAMINATED SAMPLES ALSO ENABLE A MORE ROBUST LINKAGE BETWEEN METEORITES AND THEIR PARENT BODIES IN THE MAIN-BELT AND NEAR-EARTH OBJECT POPULATION.
