THE ULTIMATE EMISSION LINE DIAGNOSTICS STUDY AT Z=1.4WE HENCE PROPOSE TO MEASURE LINE DIAGNOSTICS WITH UNPRECEDENTED SIGNAL-TO-NOISE AND ABUNDANCE OF LINES COVERED IN TWO STRONGLY LENSED GALAXIES AT Z~1.5 DISCOVERED IN STRONG LENSING SEARCHES EXECUTED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO IN COLLABORATION WITH SCIENTISTS ATNASA/GODDARD AND ELSEWHERE. THE DATA TO BE ANALYZED ARE SPACE-BASED HIGH-SPATIALRESOLUTION GRISM SPECTROSCOPY THAT INCLUDE ALL REST-FRAME OPTICAL DIAGNOSTIC EMISSION LINES FROM [O II] 3727 TO [S II] 6731. ON SPATIAL SCALES DOWN TO 100~PC WE WILL MAP THE STAR FORMATION RATE METALLICITY EXTINCTION AND EXCITATION ACROSS THESE TWO GALAXIES ANDTHEREBY MEASURE NOT ONLY THE PHYSICAL CONDITIONS OF STAR FORMATION BUT HOW THOSE CONDITIONS VARY SPATIALLY.
