THE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY IN ST. LOUIS IS CONTRIBUTING THE OTHER $95 000 PLUS LABORATORY RENOVATIONS. THIS MICROSCOPE IS REFURBISHED AND IS OFFERED TO US AT A NEARLY 50% DISCOUNT. THIS INSTRUMENT IS CRITICAL TO RESEARCH AND HAS SOME UNIQUE CAPABILITIES COMPARED TO OTHER FEG-SEMS. IT WILL BE USED FOR IMAGING AND ELEMENTAL ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES THE LATTER BY USING ITS INCLUDED EDX SYSTEM. ALL OF THE SAMPLES STDIED REQUIRESEM WORK SO THIS INSTRUMENT WILL BE USED BY THE RESEARCH GROUP ALMOST CONSTANTLY.
