WE PROSE AN ARCHIVAL STUDY AT ULTRAVIOLET WAVELENGTHS OF THE BLACK HOE BINARY SYSTEM LMC X-3 IN THE NEARBY LARGE MAGELLANIC CLOUD. IN THIS STUDY WE WILL COMBINE THE ARCHIVAL DATA THAT ARE AVAILABLE FOR SEVERAL SPACE MISSIONS THE HST FUSE IUE AND SWIFI/UVOT. WEWILL REANALYZE ALL THE EXISTING DATA TO TRACK CHANGES AS LMC X-3 MOVES INTO AND OUT OF NORMAL HIGH AND LOW STATES TO COMPARE WITH THE TRANSITION INTO AND OUT OF THE THIRDANOMALOUS LOW STATE (ALS3). WE WILL INVESTIGATE THE IUE SPECTRA TO DETERMINE WHETHER IT IS POSSIBLE TO MEASURE VARIATIONS IN: I.) EMISSION FLUX AND RATIOS OF THEN V AND C IV RESONANCE DOUBLETS AS WELL AS HE II 1640A PLUS RATIOS THE UNDERLYING CONTINUUM; II.) FWHM AND WAVELENGTH SHIFTS OF OBSERVED EMISSION LINES; AND III.) DETERMINE WHETHER ANYOTHER WEAKER EMISSION LINES (I. E. SI IV) ARE PRESENT IN THE ARCHIVAL DATA.
