VIRGINIA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE AND STATE UNIVERSITY, NEW COMPETITIVE AGREEMENT, UNDER FOA NUMBER DE-FOA-0002707(MINER) WITH PROJECT TITLE 'ENERGY-RELEVANT ELEMENTS RECOVERY FROM CO2-REACTIVE MINERALS DURING CARBON MINERALIZATION' IN WHICH PERFORMER WILL BE COMBINING ENERGY-RELEVANT ELEMENTS RECOVERY WITH CARBON MINERALIZATION WILL PROMOTE BOTH ENERGY-RELEVANT ELEMENTS PRODUCTION AND NEGATIVE CARBON EMISSIONS. THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP AN INNOVATIVE CARBON MINERALIZATION/METAL EXTRACTION TECHNOLOGY (CMME) THAT ENABLES THE RECOVERY OF ENERGY-RELEVANT ELEMENTS DURING DIRECT AND INDIRECT CARBON MINERALIZATION PROCESSES. IN THIS TECHNOLOGY, AN ORGANIC PHASE LOADED WITH SELECTIVE EXTRACTANTS IS INTRODUCED DURING THE DIRECT CARBON MINERALIZATION PROCESS AND IN THE MINERAL DISSOLUTION STEP OF INDIRECT CARBON MINERALIZATION PROCESS.
