THIS PROJECT SUPPORTED THE INSTALLATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE AT KEENEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, A PUBLIC FACILITY IN MANCHESTER, CT, AS PART OF A COMPREHENSIVE RENOVATION. THE OBJECTIVE WAS TO ACHIEVE A NET ZERO ENERGY (NZE) DESIGN BY INTEGRATING GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS AND ROOFTOP SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) PANELS. THE PROJECT ELIMINATED FOSSIL FUEL USE, REDUCED GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS, AND TARGETED AN ENERGY USE INTENSITY (EUI) BELOW 25. THE WORK FORMED PART OF A $37.5M RENOVATION UNDER CONNECTICUT STATE PROJECT NO. 077-0241 RNV AND INCLUDED FULL ELECTRIFICATION OF THE BUILDING AND HIGH-PERFORMANCE ENERGY UPGRADES.
