THE PROPOSED PROJECT CONSISTS OF INSTALLATION OF SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) SYSTEMS AT TWO (2) CITY-OWNED PROPERTIES. THESE SOLAR PV SYSTEMS ARE PRIMARILY INTENDED TO REDUCE THE CITY’S OPERATING EXPENSES BY OFFSETTING, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, ELECTRIC ENERGY REQUIREMENTS AT EACH OF THE SITES. APPROXIMATELY EIGHT (8) ACRES OF GROUND-MOUNTED ARRAYS WILL BE INSTALLED AT THE CITY’S WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY (WWTF) LOCATED AT 700 WEST LOCK & DAM ROAD. THESE ARRAYS SHOULD GENERATE AN ANNUAL AVERAGE OF ROUGHLY 2,000 KILOWATT-HOURS PER DAY, WITH PEAK GENERATING CAPACITY OCCURRING AT THE TIME OF PEAK ELECTRIC DEMAND FOR THE WWTF. THE GROUND TO BE CONVERTED TO SOLAR ARRAY INSTALLATION IS FLAT, SANDY SOIL THAT IS COVERED BY TURFGRASS, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL FOR INSTALLATION OF GROUND-MOUNTED PANELS. APPROXIMATELY 2.2 ACRES OF GROUND-MOUNTED ARRAYS WILL BE INSTALLED ON TOP OF A FINISHED WATER RESERVOIR FOR THE CITY’S PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY. THESE ARRAYS SHOULD GENERATE AN ANNUAL AVERAGE OF ROUGHLY 500 KILOWATT-HOURS PER DAY, WITH PEAK GENERATING CAPACITY OCCURRING AT THE TIME OF PEAK ELECTRIC DEMAND FOR ADJACENT RESERVOIR PUMP STATION. THE GROUND TO BE CONVERTED TO SOLAR ARRAY INSTALLATION IS VERY FLAT, CLAY SOIL THAT IS COVERED BY TURFGRASS, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL FOR INSTALLATION OF GROUND-MOUNTED PANELS.
