LONG-LIFE LITHIUM-SULFUR BATTERIES FOR FUTURE ELECTRIC VEHICLES (3LSB4EV) THE OBJECTIVE IS TO DEVELOP A LI-S CELL WITH ADVANCED S CATHODES USING 3-DIMENTIONAL GRAPHENE-SULFUR COMPOSITES (3DG-S) THAT CAN SUPPORT LONG-LIFE LITHIUM-SULFUR BATTERIES FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES (3LSB4EV) WITH >1000 CYCLES @ 80% DEPTH OF DISCHARGE (DOD) AT C/3 AND HIGH SPECIFIC ENERGY, I.E., >250 WH/KG AT 25OC THAT CAN BE READILY MANUFACTURED AT A SCALE AND COST APPROPRIATE FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EVS) AND HEAVY-DUTY ELECTRIC TRUCKS UTILIZING A NORTH AMERICAN SUPPLY CHAIN.
