SUSTAINABLE CIRCULAR MANUFACTURING OF AUTOMOTIVE COMPOSITES THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO RESEARCH, DESIGN, DEVELOP, AND MANUFACTURE CIRCULAR POLYDIKETOENAMINE (PDK) COMPOSITES FROM BIO-BASED FEEDSTOCKS AT KG-SCALE FOR DELIVERY TO PROJECT PARTNERS AND OTHER INTERESTED TIER 1 SUPPLIERS TO AUTOMOTIVE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS (OEMS) FOR CUSTOMER VALIDATION TOWARD QUALIFICATION FOR USE AS BATTERY ENCLOSURES FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EVS). THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES ARE 1) TO SCALE PRODUCTION AND PURIFICATION OF ALIPHATIC DIACIDS AND SS-KETO-D-LACTONES (BKDLS) FROM BIOMASS-DERIVED SUGARS; 2) TO SCALE PRODUCTION OF CHEMICALLY RECYCLABLE BIOPDK–FIBER COMPOSITES AND DEMONSTRATE READINESS TO SERVE AS CIRCULAR COMPONENTS IN BATTERY ENCLOSURES; AND 3) QUANTIFY PRODUCTION FACILITY ECONOMICS AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS.
