NEXT GENERATION ADVANCED ELECTROLYTE SYSTEMS FOR RADICAL COST-REDUCTION OF SEAWATER AND BRINE-DERIVED MAGNESIUM METAL THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT IS TO PRODUCE MAGNESIUM (MG) FROM NEW MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE (MGCL2) BRINES LEVERAGING OPTIMIZED EUTECTICS. A VARIETY OF ELECTROLYTES WOULD BE ANALYZED TO DISCOVER ELECTROLYTE COMPOSITIONS THAT ALLOW DEEP EUTECTIC POINTS FOR BETTER ENERGY RECOVERY, AND A HIGH FRACTION OF LOCAL SALT IMPURITIES TO ACCOMMODATE A RANGE OF MGCL2 BRINE FEEDSTOCKS.
