THE PROJECT WILL DEVELOP NOVEL AGGREGATION AND CONTROL ALGORITHMS, SECURITY CONSTRAINTS UNIT COMMITMENT (SCUC), AND SECURITY CONSTRAINTS ECONOMIC DISPATCH (SCED) FORMULATIONS AND SOLUTION METHODS THAT ENABLE THE MARKET PARTICIPATION OF AGGREGATED SOLAR AND OTHER DISTRIBUTED ENERGY RESOURCES (DERS) (ASDERS), WHERE OTHER DERS UNDER CONSIDERATION INCLUDE BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS AND FLEXIBLE / SHIFTABLE LOADS SUCH AS SMART THERMOSTATS AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES. DIFFERENT SCENARIOS WITH VARYING MIX OF SOLAR (AT LEAST 50% OF SOLAR IN THE DER MIX) AND OTHER DERS WILL BE CONSIDERED IN SOFTWARE SIMULATION AND LABORATORY VALIDATION.
