THE PROPOSED PROJECT SEEKS TO DEMONSTRATE THE POTENTIAL FOR HYBRIDIZING FLOATING PHOTOVOLTAICS (FPV) WITH HYDROPOWER FACILITIES THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES QUICKLY AND EFFECTIVELY WHILE UTILIZING DOMESTICALLY PRODUCED EQUIPMENT. THE PROJECT WOULD INVOLVE THE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF AN FPV SYSTEM AT THE PENSACOLA HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT, A 105-MEGAWATT IMPOUNDMENT HYDROPOWER FACILITY IN OKLAHOMA. PROJECT ACTIVITIES WOULD GENERATE DATA AND FINDINGS TO CONTRIBUTE TO EFFORTS WHICH QUANTIFY THE ECONOMIC AND TECHNICAL BENEFITS OF FPV-HYDROPOWER HYBRIDIZATION ON FACILITY OPERATIONS, SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT, AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS. PROJECT ACTIVITIES WOULD INCLUDE SITE ANALYSES, ENGINEERING DESIGN, PERMITTING, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT, COMPUTER SIMULATIONS, PHYSICAL SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT, AND DATA ANALYSIS.
