ONE OF THE KEY OBJECTIVES OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP A CONTROL SYSTEM THAT SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATES FLOATING SOLAR PANELS WITH THE EXISTING DAM HYDROPOWER INFRASTRUCTURE TO IMPROVE GENERATION RELIABILITY. COMBINING FLOATING SOLAR PANELS WITH HYDROPOWER ADDRESSES SEVERAL CHALLENGES, SUCH AS ENERGY INTERMITTENCY, VARYING WATER FLOWS, AND INFRASTRUCTURE CAPITAL COSTS. THE SUCCESS OF THIS PROJECT COULD LEAD TO THE INSTALLATION OF MORE FLOATING SOLAR PANELS ON HYDROPOWER RESERVOIRS, ENHANCING THE LOCAL WORKFORCE BY PROVIDING JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN SOLAR POWER GENERATION. IN ADDITION, INTEGRATING MULTIPLE RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES CAN OFFSET SEASONAL DROPS IN HYDROPOWER GENERATION AND MAXIMIZE GENERATION POTENTIAL ON HYDROPOWER RESERVOIRS.
