THIS PROJECT AIMS TO VALIDATE AND TEST COMPOSITE TIDAL TURBINE BLADES USING A NEW OPEN-SOURCE TIDAL ENERGY CONVERTER AND BLADE GEOMETRY AT THE AMEC-UNH TIDAL ENERGY TEST SITE. IT WILL COMPARE DESIGN APPROACHES AND EVALUATE PERFORMANCE OF TWO BLADE TYPES—ONE USING TRADITIONAL EPOXY MATERIALS AND ONE USING RECYCLABLE BIO-BASED RESINS—TO ADVANCE SUSTAINABLE BLADE MATERIALS FOR THE MARINE ENERGY INDUSTRY. THE WORK BUILDS ON PRIOR SUCCESSES IN BLADE TESTING AND LEVERAGES A HIGHLY INSTRUMENTED TEST BED FOR COMPREHENSIVE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS.
