THE GOAL OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO CHARACTERIZE THE SEPARATION OF PU FROM AN NP SOURCE USING DMHMP THROUGH THE QUANTIFICATION OF NPIII,IV,V,VI AND PUIII,IV,V,VI EXTRACTION BY DMHMP USING RADIOCHEMICAL, SPECTROSCOPIC, AND COMPUTATIONAL TECHNIQUES. THE TEAM IS PARTICULARLY WELL-POSITIONED TO WORK ON THIS PROJECT. THE GROUP INCLUDES TWO SENIOR SCIENTISTS (WALL AND FRANCESCONI), TWO MID-CAREER FACULTY (BURTON-PYE AND PENCHOFF), ONE JUNIOR FACULTY (OLIYNYK), AND A STAFF SCIENTIST FROM LLNL (HOLLIDAY), WHO HAVE COMPLEMENTARY EXPERTISES IN RADIOCHEMISTRY, SPECTROSCOPY, AND COMPUTATIONAL CHEMISTRY.
