ASIA-PACIFIC MICROGRID TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROPOSED EFFORT IS TO SUPPORT THE TRAINING AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE OF GRADUATE AND POST-GRADUATE TRAINEES BY INVOLVING THEM IN THE ANALYSIS, MODELING, CONTROL AND OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM DEVELOPMENT AND ASSESSMENT, AND PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF FIELD DEPLOYED OR PENDING MICROGRID PROJECTS IN HAWAI¿I. THESE MAY INVOLVE, BY EXAMPLE, ANALYZING MIXES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY, PRODUCTION COST AND SYSTEM STABILITY ANALYSIS FOR OPTIMAL HIGH RENEWABLE PENETRATION; REDUCTION IN OVERALL COST OF ENERGY TO MICROGRID OPERATORS AND CUSTOMERS CONSIDERING BOTH ON-SITE ENERGY PRODUCTION AND PURCHASED ENERGY FROM THE LOCAL UTILITY; ASSESSMENT OF THE POTENTIAL BENEFITS AND PERFORMANCE OF DC-BASED MICROGRID SYSTEMS; ASSESSMENT OF THE POTENTIAL FOR HYDROGEN TO SUPPORT RELIABILITY OF MICROGRID OPERATION; INTEGRATION OF INTELLIGENT VEHICLE CHARGING AND V2X APPLICATION IN A MICROGRID RESOURCE MIX; AND RESILIENCE OBJECTIVES CONSISTENT WITH MICROGRID OPERATOR AND COMMUNITY EXPECTATIONS AND VALUES.
