INFORMING WILDLIFE CONSERVATION STRATEGIES AND BEST PRACTICE FOR SOLAR FACILITIES A. PROJECT OBJECTIVES TOWARDS THIS GOAL, THIS PROJECT WILL COLLECT FIELD DATA AT SOLAR FACILITIES, ANALYZE THESE DATA AT THE SITE AND LANDSCAPE SCALES, USE NOVEL TECHNOLOGIES IN CAPTURING INSECT AND BIRD ACTIVITY, AND DEVELOP AN INTEGRATED DECISION MODEL (IDM) FOR THE SOLAR INDUSTRY AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO EVALUATE THE ROLE OF SITE AND LANDSCAPE FACTORS ON AVIAN REPRODUCTIVE SUCCESS AND INSECT ACTIVITY AT GROUND-MOUNTED SOLAR FACILITIES. THE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES AND IDM DEVELOPMENT WILL BE CONDUCTED IN PARALLEL WITH IN-DEPTH STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT. THE PROJECT TEAM AIMS FOR THIS RESEARCH TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARD THE ENERGY NEEDS OF THE FUTURE WHILE PROVIDING SUITABLE HABITATS FOR WILDLIFE.
