BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE LAW - AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION TO COMPLETELY RECYCLE AND UPCYCLE LITHIUM-ION BATTERY COMPONENTS THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP A NOVEL, COMPLETE, AND ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION FOR RECYCLING END-OF-LIFE (EOL) LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES (LIBS). THE SPECIFIC GOALS INCLUDE AUTOMATED BATTERY PACK DISASSEMBLY, CATHODE-TO-CATHODE UPCYCLING, ANODE-TO-ANODE RECYCLING/UPCYCLING, LITHIUM COMPOUNDS (E.G., LIF AND LI3PO4) RECOVERY, AND POLYVINYLIDENE FLUORIDE (PVDF) BINDER RECOVERY. USING THIS NEW RECYCLING TECHNOLOGY, THE TOTAL RECYCLING EFFICIENCY WILL BE OVER 92%.
