THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THIS PROJECT ARE TO IDENTIFY RESILIENCE METRICS AND TO DEVELOP A METHODOLOGY TO CONDUCT ENERGY RESILIENCE ASSESSMENTS IN HISTORICALLY ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES (HEDCS) IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA. THE FINAL GOAL OF THE PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP ENERGY RESILIENCE PLANS SUPPORTED BY CASE STUDIES THAT WILL INCORPORATE SOLAR PLUS STORAGE. THE PROJECT WORK WILL FOCUS ON COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TO IDENTIFY HEDCS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE RESILIENCE STUDY AND DEVELOPMENT OF ENERGY RESILIENCE METRICS (ERM). THE ERM WILL BE USED TO 1) IDENTIFY DATA INPUTS FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF ENERGY RESILIENCE, 2) UNDERSTAND ENERGY RESILIENCE NEEDS FOR PARTICIPANT COMMUNITIES TO DEVELOP RESILIENCE PLANS, 3) IDENTIFY COMMUNITIES TO DEVELOP CASE STUDIES FOR ENERGY RESILIENCE INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING, INCLUDING SOLAR PLUS STORAGE ENGINEERING DRAWINGS AND FEASIBILITY STUDIES , AND 4) DEVELOP AN ENERGY RESILIENCE ASSESSMENT TOOL TO BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR STATE AGENCIES, LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, COMMUNITY EMERGENCY PLANNING SERVICES, ELECTRIC UTILITIES, PLANNING OFFICES AND OTHER COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS.
